Getting help

Common questions
Does the script end up in my recorded video?
No. The scrolling script is drawn on screen only and is never composited into the saved video, so what you keep is just the camera footage.
Why does the text read backwards?
Mirror mode is on. It exists for beam-splitter teleprompter rigs, where the text has to be flipped to read correctly through the glass. Turn it off in Settings, or from the prompter itself. It has no effect on the recorded file either way.
Why is the camera screen black?
Camera or microphone access was declined. The prompter shows a link straight to the relevant Settings page - grant access there and come back. The library and editor keep working regardless.
Why does my recording have no sound?
Check the level meter next to the record button before you start: it moves when the mic hears you. A flat meter means the microphone is denied or the selected input is dead. If a wired or USB-C mic is connected, use the input picker to confirm the right one is selected.
What happens if something interrupts a recording?
A call, switching apps, or running out of storage stops the recording and finalises what was captured up to that point - you get the partial take in the review screen rather than losing it.
Where do my recordings go?
Nowhere until you tap Keep, which saves the take to your photo library. Retake deletes it straight away. See the privacy policy for detail.
Is there a subscription to cancel?
No. There is no billing of any kind, no account, and no paid tier - so there is nothing to cancel and nothing to restore on a new device.
How do I recover a script I deleted?
You can’t. Scripts live on the device and are not backed up to a server of mine, because there isn’t one. Deleting a script, or deleting the app, is final.
How do I report a bug?
Email me. Describing what you did immediately before it happened usually makes a bug fixable in one pass.
